From the beginning, the New York New Jersey Regional Joint Board, UNITE HERE has represented women and men working in the manufacturing sector of this country. In the earliest days of our great Union, we chiefly represented workers in the textile industry (dyeing, sewing, alterations and so forth).
Today, your Joint Board represents workers in many different sectors of manufacturing. Everything from plastics, food products, health care, electronics, textiles, and so much more!
Yes it’s true; the members of UNITE HERE make the difference. With our excellent contracts, benefit packages, along with work-place democracy; we keep the factories and mills running— so our country and the world can enjoy have the highest quality of life!

NY-NJ Joint Board Members Get Out the Vote
October 25, 2008: NY-NJ Regional Joint Board Members hit the streets in Newark and Bayonne, NJ today for the third consecutive Saturday as part of their effort to mobilize fellow union members to vote in the Presidential election on November 4th.

Local 98 and Plastic, Soft Materials Association Reach Agreement
Contract negotiations have recently concluded between the New York New Jersey Regional Joint Board, and its Local 98 with the Plastic, Soft Materials Association. The results— an impressive 3 year contract.
After months of talks between the Union and the Company, and as many as 10 bargaining sessions, a new agreement was reached. From the beginning the bargaining committee was steadfast in maintaining affordable health insurance and fair gains in wages for its 600 members.
